Nate Beeler's Political Cartoon #1
The cartoon show's an American bomber plane being flown by President Obama, who is subsequently dropping a bomb over Libya in midst of their political turmoil regarding their previous leader Gaddafi. However, along with the bomb being dropped is Obama's Nobel Peace Prize to point out the irony f his decision being incongruent with his previous reward. Thus, Mr. Beeler is against a violent interference with Libya and is probably more in favor of a more civil diplomatic solution to maintain peace and justice.
Mike Keef's Political Cartoon #1
The cartoon shows a dark Earth with a caption that says "nuclear waste containment vessel." This shows the blatant pollution a degradation of the Earth by humans mainly residing in industrialized nations. Thus the satirical message of this picture and caption is one that strongly resonates with me as I am one in strong opposition to the mass industrialization that is leading to the destruction of the Earth's resources that in turn affects the quality of all biological life. It goes to show the unconcerned disregard of major corporations and governments that allow such detrimental pollution and destruction of our land using the same unsuccessful tactics to remove nuclear and other waste as result of industrialization. However, I am firm believer in the phrase "prevention is better than cure" and therefore support alternative sources of energy that is less stressful on the environment in which we all live and share.
Pat Bagley's Political Cartoon #1
The cartoon shows the Democrats, the GOP, and the Tea Party in a game of rock, paper, scissors. The GOP scissors supports budget cuts over the Democrats, which is beaten by the Tea Party's rock. Therefore, Mr. Bagley supports the populist ideology of Tea Party members. Thus to be considered a populist one is in support f reduced government spending, which correlates to their opposition to taxes, and this in turn will lower national debt and federal budget deficit. They also, support the constitution mainly in its strong sense of liberty and freedom of expression.
Daryl Cagle's Political Cartoon #1
The cartoon shows a pool encrypted by an IRS tax form. A man, followed by his wife and two children are about to jump into the "tax" pool that is shark infested. This is to show the irony of filing your taxes, which Mr. Cagle displays as a death trap for a couple that will also affect their young and future offspring. This cartoon expresses a more conservative side given its obvious resentment towards filings taxes. Furthermore, the husband has a look of uncertainty as to whether or not he should jump in order to symbolize one's indecisive thought process when trying to understand the logic and benefit of filing one's taxes.
